domestic animals

Reading about domestication of foxes research being done in Russia.( National geographic website - I really like them on facebook. Lot of interesting articles...)
Some scientist researching about domestication has experimented with foxes rats and some other animals.. they found that by selecting animals carefully they were able to domesticate these animals with in a few years...However they were not able to domesticate some species at all. All the breeds of domesticated species showed the same physical characteristics, even tho they were not selected based on looks at all - like floppy ears, spotted coat etc.
Also they found some of the genetic markers found in those domestiacted mammals- all of them... Hmmm.. these are also found in one kind of people with mental disorders . These are elfin people. The syndrome Williams syndrome. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Williams_syndrome. The people with this disorder are really charming and nice.. and itseems parents of such children reported back that sometimes these children reminded them of dogs. :,-( for their uninhibited love and caring for all. :,-( Really sad.. sad for those kids and animals...two thoughts... have we created some kind of mental disorder in animals when we domesticated the species ? and are we such a sad society that nice people are considered to have mental disorders?Tare Zameen par..
hmm but I realise both of this is twisted kind of thinking- and momentary... first thought is not true because domestic dogs are intelligent and disorder word is always relative - yes in wild wolf society they are disordered but in human society aggressive dog is disordered - second is also not true - these kids not only have good nature but also have other problems like physical co-ordination etc - ..and Human society is nice enough to call them elfs and rise them above us ...
Still its all kind of sad, I feel sad for domesticated animals because they crave human contact especially that ugly old kittu dear near old house.. he used to come to me just to get petted... we have created a need in these animals...we are responsible for them. There are foxes here which are not domesticated, they live quite happily among their own kind( atleast I wud like to hope so! :) My kittens in Bangalore were almost wild I guess, they din get close to any other person other than me..ran away from home when my parents came home etc.. no wonder - I picked up the shyest kittys in that shelter... dragged them out of hiding from below some cardboard boxes :-) no one else wud probably even find them let alone pick them...I miss them :-(
Anyway We have made domestic animals like that...to be dependent on us ( emotionally I mean) we have to care for them.. we cant treat them like how Nat geo treats wild animals I mean usually they dont meddle with wild animals they just observe . I mean we have to interfere with domestic animals..control population, feed them, vaccinate them etc.. they are our responsibility..
Symbiosis between different species must have started like this, By altering both the species. Crocs get their teeth cleaned by those lil birds.. both croc and birdy genes must have changed for this right? So I think - there must be changes which happened in us ( as a species) which changed us from "killing all animals" and to "caring for a few". if I think about it -Its not so sad after all. :-) Its not that we domesticated animals.. animals must have domesticates us a lil bit too ... :-)

I saw this silly feather today, It was flying. It didn’t know that it had fallen off the pigeon already and that it cant fly J

Reminded me of Tom and Jerry who keep on running even when the ground runs out until they realise that there is no more ground…

I caught it.. and now I m guilty that I put an end to its flying.. I tried to get it flying again but it dropped down to the ground .. poor feather.

need a dreary winter to notice the spring?

yeah again that only...
Human eye can see movement, changes in brightness, more than details....we feel the acceleration and not velocity.... we like hikes not that much the salary :)
It is all about change - Only change stimulates!
If we make the world all good("boring" :-D) if we remove all grief... if we are never sad.. we will need more and more joyous situations to be just as happy as before .. like a drug, we need more and more just to be as high..
Just change is not enough we need changing change...how far can we go like this?
hmmm getting better for ever, happier and happier for ever...higher and higher.. how high can we go?
Eternal summer - Yawn... so.. thats not the solution.. summer autumn winter spring... -cycles is the solution-.. life has to be and will be a sine wave - up down up down so we feel the change and feel alive...
sometimes I wished for things to remain same....the same friends to last forever, to not grow out of our childhood, college life to not get over.. to not get out of 20's.. wish for for movies to be sweet, innocent and idealistic like in the 40's and 50's...Lakes and fields near our house to still be there..summer holidays to not get over.. cousins to not go back home.... but things change.. thats a good thing!! summer holidays were fun because of the exams and all the hard work.. no?

The sharper the change in fortune more alive I feel, if you havent seen the coldest day, will u love the warm day, If ur never heart broken , will u appreciate love?

Give me wild water and rough sea, to a quite mill pond
Ill learn to surf the waves than row a boat on the quite waters

(dono if I really mean that? :P ask me when I sailing really low :D )

^_^

need a dreary winter to notice the spring?
feels like life(?) is a tiny bunny peeping out of its burrow, I can just see the tip of its nose..
Its coming slowly...with stealthy steps, like a dear friend who wants to walk up silently behind u and close ur eyes and surprise u with a Tada!!
grass trying to springing out of the ground..
tiny monds on empty branches..they'll become leaves in a few days..
tiny flower buds on trees..they are not even colored yet still brown with a tinge of yellow or pink..unopened presents..
new birds.. tiny sparrows and a lil bigger ones...theyve woken up and are pecking at- I dono what is there now thats was not there 2 weeks ago?

There are orange and peach colored clothes iin the shops and swim suits..
There is promise in the air.. that the dark grey days are over .. and...
its a hanging promise.. cold dark days are over :) ashte

I want to be a terror granma an obnoxious granma outrageous granma silly granma....:) hehe..

It took like 5 minutes for her point to hit home and it hurts :) It s bitter sweet how this makes me feel...I feel happy to remember those dreams of carefree old age.. but when I think of an old woman wearing a red hat and purple dress its making me sad..I m feeling sad for her :-(

Deeponomics

Frekonomics
Frekonimics says that reduction of crime rate in 1990’s in US was directly related to abolishing the anti abortion law in 1970.. so all those guys who would have been born in 1970s whould would cause trouble in 1990s were well not born at all so no crime…
Deeponomics
In a developed(??Oh humm Ill start liking it here some day) country like UK there are like 1% software engineer then Why are there so many girl software engineers(20%?) in a very traditional developing country like India..( which btw still practices female feotiscide)
In 1980s – ordinary Indian girls weren’t encouraged to study too much.. u see u wont get a groom who is more educated than u and then we will have to give a lot of dowry for a highly educated groom.
So essential skills for a girl were good cooking cleaning maintain house and knowledge of all traditions and etiquettes - all well and very nice..
Goal in life for a girls parents get my daughter married. ashte…
Then in mid 1990s a new breed of boys (and a few girls but this story is not about them :P) started emerging.. The software engineers, they would go on to change the face of India :P( whatever) What characterised this breed was sophistication, intelligence, suaveness – ah blah.. no one cares for all that.. but they had money… ah! now u are listening... loads and loads of it.. much more than any ordinary middle class man has ever seen in his life time… obviously they were THE prized catch in the marriage market… and so the dainty damsels were lined up in front of these and they had their pick.. but lo and behold what happens..
This new breed u would think had enough money to lead 2 families happily would look for homely girls but no.. money attacts money they say or for what ever other reasons.. the software engineer grooms wanted software engieneer brides to get married to! Not BA in Music, not Home science graduate not BCom but B.E. comp sci BE Electronics!!!
WHAT?
The whole of the Marriage market was shaken… what was this? What was happening.. 20 years of grooming down the drain? having studied the market they had perfected their product but.. the market had changed overnight!!!
Any capitalistic economy the suppy indeed catches up fast with the demand, and so this very developed and stable market indeed recovered and fast… huge queues were formed and MCA collegues started running to the full. BA Music + MCA = BE comp Sci.. = job at Infosys = SE groom! Yupiee!!
BA music, history, homesciecne forms were withdrawn and B E comp sci.. yeah those forms were taken in..cooking and baking classes bandh, maths and science tutuion shuru..
And with in a matter of half a decade.. the number of girl students in any Engineering class went up from 10 % to 50% !!
This number varies along with the recession cycle too.. but has stabilized over the ages
And this is how a very traditional country like India breeds the best of the Lady engieneers in the world!
(based on a true statistics- the author personally knows a Bsc homescience who got forms for MCA and would have almost joined , if not for having found a bank manager groom in the mean time.
Edit: Now happily married with 2 kids :P everyone wants to know the endings of stories :P)

Lovely sunny day here…

I had this everyday in Bangalore, I enjoyed it but I took this for granted.. didn’t stop a minute to appreciate the sun.

Wonder what all  it is now at this moment that I am taking for granted?

Trying to post this from my e-mail! J Let see how this goes..

Nick Vujicic – the guy with no hand no legs and NO LIMITS.  He is an awesome guy allright. The way he is living his life and his attitude is just amazing. Put me to shame. It is very obvious his religion and his church has played a very major role in him and his parents being able to cope with the situation . It must have been very ( unimaginably) difficult – the support that their religion and community has given them is priceless.. so it is understandable that there is a bit of evangelism in the book- I knew this. I decided to read the book anyway but my poor impressionable brain hehe! .. That night  - my mum – we got her converted to Christianity, because we were getting I-phone free.. LOL .. and now she became so fanatical- actually she was more like enthusiastic than fanatical.. any way that was too enthu for all of us and it was unbearable and so we want to convert her back ok.. but its not allowed itseems. So we had to take this up with – ahem- GOD !! I had to take this roller coaster ride to get to his kingdom- looked like a red fort ..  The God territory looked very similar to grand canyon :D and the roller coaster was really scary.. and long winded and after that I think we all forgot about what we wanted with all this..  Dreams!!! Crazy! J
